Love,
I'll be reviewing today one of my most favorite and most used eyeshadow palette which is theBalm Nude 'Tude Eyeshadow Palette priced at 36$ for 12 eyeshadows.
theBalm has been one of my favorite brand when it comes to eyeshadows and blushes and this is no secret! I was introduced to this brand by one of my favorite You Tuber Emily Noel from Beauty Broadcast! If you love watching YT videos I am sure you are aware of her and perhaps already subscribed as well. If not I highly suggest you to subscribe to her since she is one of the best beauty gurus when it comes to informative videos on makeup! If there is one person whom I trust to review a product thoroughly considering all the factors it would be Emily Noel! She had been raving theBalm's Nude 'Tude Palette and even went ahead and mentioned it being better than the Urban Decay's Naked palettes!
So when I saw this palette available at the local SaSa stores in Kuala Lumpur I could not resist and finally bought it. The Balm Nude 'Tude palette retails for 36$ in the US and I got it for 115RM. It contains 12 eyeshadows ranging from neutrals to dark smokey ones and has the perfect mix of matte, satin and shimmery shades! The palette has 4 matte eyeshadows and rest belong to either satin or shimmery finish.
The palette comes in a cardboard box packaging and is super light weight. theBalm is famous for its attractive retro packaging and it wins my heart always! Entire ingredient list and the names of the eyeshadows are mentioned on the back of the palette. The palette also comes with a tiny two sided brush which I find it quite useful especially in filling my eyebrows. The palette also has a big mirror which definitely comes in handy when you are travelling and the lid being magnetic shuts tightly again making it perfect for trips!
Seriously don't you just love the funky packaging? I don't know about you but I totally adore it! <3 <3 <3
Now lets talk about the shades, all the shades in this palette are super soft and highly pigmented. I love the variety of shades in this palette, you can go from neutral to dark smokey looks using just this palette!
Sassy:- This shade is a frosty white with soft buttery texture and is highly pigmented in nature. It is a great browbone highlight shade!
Snobby:- It is a shimmery pale golden yellow again with soft texture. It looks beautiful on brow bone especially for Indian looks. Its a great inner corner highlight as well.
Stubborn:- Stubborn is a peachy pink shade with frosted finish
Stanf-offish:- Its incredibly soft and shimmery shade with strong warm pink tones. Its gorgeous!
Selfish:- Selfish is a a gorgeous taupe shade, reminds me of MAC Satin Taupe but a lighter version of that. It blends beautifully and is perfect for everyday wear.
Sultry:- Its warm matte brown and is incredibly soft in texture, its a little too soft for my liking and hence there is some powder fallouts in the pan. Its highly pigmented and works great as a blending color for the crease. Though its matte it does have very little shimmer which does not translate on the skin
Sophisticated:- This is my favorite shade from this palette! Its a gorgeous greyish brown with bronze gold shimmer to it! Its highly pigmented and goes on smoothly on the skin! A very unique shade!
Seductive:- Another one of my favorite, its a medium warm gold shade with satin finish. Reminds me a lot of MAC Woodwinked. Its the perfect all over lid shade and looks very flattering on warm skin tones! Again highly pigmented!
Sexy:- Its a dark burgundy shade with matte finish. Its a unique shade and has strong red or maroon undertones to it! Its incredibly pigmented and blends well
Silly:- This is the only shade from the palette which is a bit stiff in texture and not as soft as the rest of the shades. The color is gorgeous cool toned brown with gold and bronze shimmer running through it! It looks beautiful in the pan but does not translate the same way on the lids..you definitely need to layer it to get that shimmer going through
Serious:- Its a jet matte black, highly pigmented and soft in texture..no complains!
Sleek:- Its a matte deep dark brown and is highly pigmented, more pigmented than the black shade.
All the eyeshadows in this palette are incredibly soft and pigmented! My personal favorites are Sophisticated and Seductive! I love the matte shades Serious and Sleek and often use the mix of them to fill in my brows. I have dark black brows and both these shades together match them perfectly. The brush which comes with this palette is very handy in filling in the brows. For highlight I really love Snobby and Stubborn a lot. You can even use the dark matte black eyeshadow to line your upper lashline lightly or to tightline. All the swatches above are without the use of any primer and you can see how insanely pigmented they are! Overall a must have eyeshadow palette if you love neutrals with a variety of colors!
I have used this palette in many of my tutorials couple of them are - Everyday Smokey Eyes and Aishwarya Rai Cannes Inspired Makeup Tutorial
Top Row Left to Right - Sassy, Stubborn and Selfish
