Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel Review and Swatches

It's been a while since I did a skin care product review. Next on my review list was my current moisturizer which is Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel! I always wanted to give this a shot especially because it seems to be one of the best moisturizers for oily to combination skin and almost everyone I know uses this and raves about it! It is part of their 3-Step Skincare for oily to combination skin.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel is mainly for combination to oily skin. They have another moisturizer lotion which is targeted towards dry skin and is more hydrating. Since I have combination skin I picked up the gel version. I picked up the 125ml bottle from StrawberryNet in May I believe and it on discount in one of their Daily Deals section. It retails for around 1500 for 50ml tube and 2700-2800 for 125 ml which comes in a plastic bottle with a pump.

I absolutely love the packaging! It comes in a frosted white plastic bottle with a pump and a cap! The pump is excellent as it dispenses the perfect amount of product leading to less wastage. The only issue I believe will come when the moisturizer is about to get over and the pump will no longer be able to dispense the product. I'll probably have to scrape out the product using a Q-tip!

Description:- The oil-free moisture "drink" developed by Clinique's dermatologists to maintain optimal moisture balance for skins comfortable in the cheeks but oily in the T-zone or oily all over. Oil-free formula softens, smooths, improves.

 The Ingredients List:-

The moisturizer is very light weight in texture almost like a lotion consistency. It does not feel heavy on the skin and gets absorbed instantly leaving behind soft and supple skin. It does not make one look oily or greasy at all nor does it give a complete matte finish. The face looks moisturized and healthy but without looking overly matte, hope I am making some sense. It is oil free and fragrance free which are a must have in my skin care products! I hate fragrances in skin care products.

I have combination skin often prone to dry patches around mouth and nose area. This moisturizer does take care of the dry patches and moisturizes them well. I have oily skin on my cheeks but this does not make them appear to be like grease balls. I have used it below my makeup and it works well, foundation goes on smoothly and blends really well. I have used this in humid weather of mumbai and dry weather of Pune and it works equally well for both.

The only issue I have with this is that it does not keep my combination skin moisturized for the whole day. As I mentioned earlier I do get dry patches around my mouth and even though this gel takes care of it instantly but after 3 to 4 hours I feel the skin around my mouth starts to look dry and feels a bit stretchy. If you have oily skin all over your face this will be an excellent moisturizer but if you have combination to dry skin this definitely will not be enough!

Also I do use quite a lot of strong products for acne which definitely tends to make my skin dry and dehydrated and this moisturizer does not do much for my skin in that state.

Final Thoughts Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel Pros:- -> Practical and travel friendly packaging -> Comes with a pump! -> Light weight in texture -> Gets absorbed easily -> Does not leave skin oily or shiny -> Controls oil for 2 to 3 hours -> Leaves skin hydrated and supple looking -> Will last a long time -> Provides sufficient hydration for oily skin     -> Does not clog pores Cons:- -> Not enough hydration for combination to dry skin -> Does not keep skin moisturized for the whole day especially if you have combination skin or use a lot of acne treatments. -> Expensive!
