Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque Review and Swatches

Things have been a bit slowly here lately and that's because I haven't been keeping well past few days but slowly I am trying to get back on tracks and hopefully I'll come up with more step by step tutorials soon! I know many of you have requested looks using the Naked palettes and I am definitely going to do few very soon! But for today's post I'll be sharing one of my must have item in my skin care routine and that is Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque!

The masque retails for 3$ to 4$ depending upon from you buy. It comes in a white and green plastic tube packaging with a screw cap. The packaging is very basic and plain but works for me. For the price it contains fantastic amount of product about 226 gms which is huge and will last ages even if I use 2 to 3 times a week!

Two of the key ingredients in the mask is Kaolin and Sulphur both which are known to work great for oily and acne prone skin. The mask is light sea green in color and comes out quite thick in texture. It has got the most refreshing fragrance I have ever come across in a face mask! It smells like spearmint and is not very strong but feels rather calming on mind. Its a clay based mask hence it takes a while to dry, I usually apply a thick layer of mask in the evenings and let it sit on my face for about 30 to 45 mins or until its completely dry and then wash away with cold tap water. The skin feels refreshed and extremely smooth to touch!

The mask works really well deep cleansing of pores and thus makes them appear smaller and tighter. The skin looks bright and radiant, sort of gives a natural glow to the skin. It does not make my skin dry even though I have combination skin. Once its dried it does not feel stretchy at all like other clay based masks. It reduces the redness on cheeks and calms the pimple down. I don't have major issue with blackheads but I do get small zits and whiteheads especially during that time of the month and this mask works extremely well in subsiding the zits and whiteheads. Overall a fantastic face mask and a should work for all skin types even dry skin since it does not really dry out the skin further! Highly recommended!
