Dupe for MAC 239 brush? Loew Cornell 270 Maxine Mop Brush in 3/8th

Now who doesn't like dupes? especially if one is talking about MAC brush dupes! We all know that Sigma makes some really great dupes for most of the MAC brushes but even Sigma brushes with the expensive shipping and not to forget the insanely high custom charges become quite expensive!

So the brush I will be reviewing today is an exact dupe for MAC 239 brush and costs less than a 1/10th of the price! Its the Loew Cornell's 270 Maxine Mop Brush in the size 3/8th! If you love painting I am sure you are aware of Loew Cornell brushes if not let me know give you a small introduction :)

Loew Cornell art brushes are one of the highly reputed brushes used by various artists all around the world! They have quite an extensive range of brushes and some of them are exact dupes of the MAC brushes, for eg the one I am reviewing LC 270 Maxine Mop 3/8th brush is an exact dupe of MAC 239!

Both MAC and LC brushes are natural bristles made from goat hair, the shape and density of the bristles of LC brush is very much same as the MAC one (now I don't own the MAC 239 but I have seen the brush in the MAC store). I have used LC brush end number of times to pack on eyeshadow all over the lids and it does the job very well and does not shed one bit! I have washed the brush for 4 to 5 times now and the brush never shed a single bristle and maintained the shape as well.

Now for the most important part price! MAC one retails at 25$ on their website and in India I believe it should be around 1700 - 2000 INR which for me is a huge amount to pay for a single eyeshadow brush! Loew Cornell 270 Maxine Mop brushes come in various sizes and the one I have is in 3/8th and it costed me around 180 - 200 INR! Now you do the math!

I believe Loew Cornell brushes are available in India and you should find these in stores which specialize in art brushes.

A quick comparison with my other shader brushes, on top we have the Loew Cornell Maxine Mop brush in 270 in the size 3/8th, middle is the Sigma E55 and the last one is the Faces eyeshadow brush

Now I don't say that MAC 239 is not worth it, but for me I don't believe in spending 2k on a single brush especially since I am not a professional makeup artist and nor do I do eye makeup every single time I step out of my home! Now LC brushes may not last as long as the MAC one but in one MAC brush price I could probably buy 10 Loew Cornell brushes and use one brush a year..sounds like a good deal to me :)
