Nars Blush In Lovejoy Review, Swatch and FOTD

Hey Everyone!

Nars Lovejoy Blush

Its not a secret that I love blushes! I don't hoard them without thinking but most of my purchases are quite planned and researched! Recently I have started to invest in high end makeup brands like theBalm, Nars, MAC for blushes and foundations and even though the prices are quite high but if you get good deals on them then why not..right?

Nars Lovejoy Blush is described as "shimmering bronzed rose" which I find quite accurate for the shade description! If bronze and rose would have a marriage their child would be very much like Lovejoy! Did I tell you I absolutely adore the name of this blush!

Real Techniques Blush Brush Review

Hey Everyone!

Real Techniques Brushes need no introduction! If you love makeup and are passionate about it I am sure you must have heard about these amazing brushes! These brushes are developed by Samantha Chapman of Pixiwoo sisters and I must admit she has done a fabulous job!

I have most of the Real Techniques brush collection other than their Kabuki Brush and Eyes Starters Kit. Earlier I reviewed their Lash-Brows Groomer brush the review for which you can check out here. Today I'll be reviewing Real Techniques Blush Brush!

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Finishing Powder in Sunkiss Radieux 030 Review, Swatch and FOTD

Hey Everyone!

Fact is ladies and gentlemen if any :) I was never much into bronzing and this is the only bronzer I own currently which most probably will change very soon! Bronzers are used to add some color and life back to your face since many a times foundations tend to make one look absolutely flat and even colored which is not very flattering in my opinion and rather looks artificial!

I don't think that SA's in Indian markets are yet aware of the word bronzer let alone how to use them correctly! This scenario definitely needs to change and I hope the cosmetics companies if reading this will do something about educating their SA's regarding makeup basics!

MUA Extreme Curl Mascara Review, Swatch and EOTD

Hey Everyone!

MUA Extreme Curl Mascara was one of the items I hauled during MUA's 50% off sale in Jan/Feb earlier this year. I generally don't experiment a lot with mascaras and always stick to Maybelline or L'oreal but now I feel I must try out different mascaras especially since I absolutely wearing them on day to day basis! Next I am eyeing Max Factor ones!

MUA products are cheap and quite good in quality atleast I have not faced any quality issue yet. Extreme curl mascara comes in two shades Black-Brown and Black and of course I have the shade Black since I like my lashes to look really jet black!

Colorbar Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Review, Swatch, EOTD

Hey Everyone!

From the moment I started using eye liners Maybelline Gel Liner has been my favorite and surprisingly it was my very first eye liner as well! I know most of us start using pencil liners, liquid liners and finally migrate to gel liners but for it was really the other way round! I got into liquid liners very late and even now I only own one liquid liner and its the Colorbar Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Black!

Iridescent Green Blue Purple Smokey Eyes Tutorial - Step By Step

If you are a makeup lover like me and love watching YouTube videos I am sure you are aware of the very famous Ben Nye Banana Powder!

Diorskin Poudre Shimmer in 002 Amber Diamond Review and FOTD

Hey Everyone!

Diorskin Poudre Shimmer in 002 Amber Diamond was a gift from Mr D when he was returning back from Swiss couple of years back and I still remember I was completely shocked and surprised that he picked up this beauty for me since he has absolutely no knowledge about makeup whatsoever! When asked he plainly shrugged and said it looked classy and stood out on the counter and hence picked that up! Men I tell ya...

Anyways back then I really had no idea about what highlighters are and how to use them. Dior describes these beauties as Ultra Shimmering All Over Face Powder. Diorskin Poudre Shimmer comes in two shades
001 Rose Diamond - pearl/pink/mauve/soft plum/pink
002 Amber Diamond - ivory/champagne/tan/bronze/peach

Readers Queries - How to choose right foundation, makeup up for day and night time and how to balance eye and lip makeup

Hey Everyone!!

So we have new segment starting "Readers Queries" wherein you can email me any questions or doubts you may have and I will post the same on the blog with my answers :) This way you'll not only get my suggestions but also the expert advice of so many other bloggers here! So do reach out without any hesitations!

So I got this query from a friend Rohini

"Hey dearie, hows you doing? I must tell you I absolutely have fallen in love with your blog..

Btw I have a couple of queries like
1. choosing the right foundation for indian skin tones.. 2. what type of make up to wear for day parties and evening parties.. 3. how to balance eye and lip makeup (like I have read somewhere that at anytime only one of them should be heavy)
I hope you can address these sometime.. it will be very useful for makeup illiterates like me"

Hi Rohini,

First of all thank you once again for your sweetest words :) Though I am no professional but will try to answer your queries to the best of my knowledge :)

1) choosing the right foundation for indian skin tones
- This is probably one of the most difficult question and I am sure we all have faced difficulties in choosing the right foundation for our skin. Majority of the Indian skins have olive/yellow under tones and most of the foundation available in the indian market have pink undertones which make us look like a white ghost!

Before choosing the foundation first identify what skin type and skin tone you have, for eg if you have yellow undertones or pink or neutral. You can also visit any MAC store and get your shade checked if you have yellow undertones you are in NC range and if you have pink under tones you in NW range.

Next what type of skin you have? Oil/Combination/Dry, depending upon your skin type your foundation will also vary. I will provide some options for all three skin types which I know work well :)

Assuming you have yellow undertones (she uses revlon nearly naked foundation in natural beige)

Oily skin - Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation is the bomb! Give it a try!, Revlon Colorstay foundation is a cult favorite among oily skinned beauties (I am not too fond of it since it feels too heavy) ,Revlon Whipped Creme foundation, Loreal True Match also is a great foundation which gives natural finish and has quite good shades with yellow under tones, Loreal Lumi foundations gives lovely dewy finish. From high end MAC Pro Long Wear foundation is awesome and so is MAC Studio Fix Fluid and MAC Studio Fix Powder! I have heard so much about Kat Von D Tattoo foundation and is good for oily skins and so is Nars Sheer Glow foundation.

Combination skin - Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous, Revlon whipped creme, Loreal True Match, Loreal Lumi foundation. From high end Nars Sheer Glow, MAC Matchmaster gives amazing natural finish! MAC Face and Body foundation gives dewy healthy skin finish, Nars Sheer Glow!

Dry Skin - L'oreal Lumi foundation, Loreal True Match foundation, Neutrogena healthy skin foundation are pretty awesome. From high end Laura Mercier makes some fantastic hydrating foundations, MAC Face and Body foundation, Bobbi brown has some good hydrating foundation for dry skin and Nars sheer glow foundation works very well as well!

Please note I have not used all the above so cannot vouch for them 100% but do read the reviews online and on YT and always always get a sample from MAC/Sephora etc try them at home, see how it looks in natural day light and then go and buy. Don't be shy in asking for samples! Temptalia has amazing foundation matrix where in you can find a match for your shade in almost all brands just by entering your skin tone. Also recently I found another awesome site called Findation which is purely dedicated for matching the right foundation for you, you need to enter anyone foundation which you feel matches your skin and the site will list all other foundation shades from all brands for your skin tone! Isn't it awesome!

2) what type of make up to wear for day parties and evening parties..3. how to balance eye and lip makeup (like I have read somewhere that at anytime only one of them should be heavy)
I hope you can address these sometime.. it will be very useful for makeup illiterates like me".
-> The answer to this questions would vary from individual to individual as its a personal preference but I will let you know what I feel and how I wear makeup for parties.

For day time I usually like to go very subtle and neutral looks involving shades like taupe, peaches, pinks, bronze, brown...you can even incorporate colors depending upon your outfit but make sure you don't use too many colors together or else it may start to look over the top and we don't want that. Use a natural matte foundation and a peachy/pink blushes to give that soft flush. Also use a highlighter on the cheeks nothing too shimmery though, I like highlighters which are in satin finish :)

For night time for me it purely depends upon occasion and outfit. If my outfit is bold enough I try to keep my eye makeup simple and neutral but you can definitely go for bold smokey eyes during the night time. If you are going for smokey eyes keep the lips neutral since we want the eyes to catch more attention. But if you are going for neutral eye makeup definitely go ahead with bold lipsticks! I prefer matte lipstick which are non drying MAC has some great options and Ruby Woo is a cult favorite from MAC and goes with all skin tones!

I hope I was able to answer some of queries and I hope you found it a bit helpful :)

If you would like to get your doubts and queries answered do write in to me - paritasworld@gmail.com and I will surely get back to you soon!

Until next time take care and stay beautiful!

Kryolan TV Paint Stick FS 28 Review, FOTD and Tips on How To Apply

Hey Everyone!

Kryolan TV Paint Stick

This review is dedicated to my very dear friend Preetha from IBJ! I am sure all of you know her as she and her blog needs no introduction! She has requested me to review the Kryolan TV Paint Stick since we both have almost similar skin tones and skin types. So lets get started!

I came across Kryolan products way back in 2011 when I was just starting into makeup. Kryolan is one of the most reputed brand when it comes to theatrical makeup. Their products are widely used for films and tv since they provide the most gorgeous flawless look in video and pictures! Another reason why they are widely used in bridal makeup as well!

Kryolan TV Paint Stick India

When I walked into Kryolan store near my home I honestly had no idea about what to expect but the SA was very sweet and kind, I explained her what I was looking for and she had good knowledge of the products and fortunately matched me to my perfect color which is such a pain sometimes! I am sure you know what I mean :)

I went to look into color corrector for my panda eyes but left the store with a lot more! Kryolan TV Paint Stick was one of them. I have very strong yellow under tones and fall between NC40-42 in MAC and I was matched with the shade FS 28 which is perfect!

Everyday Simple Black Smokey Eyes Tutorial - Step By Step

Hey Everyone!

I have been itching to do a simple black smokey eyes which can be worn during day time easily and this is what I came up with!

I love such sultry and simple looks especially for the day time since they bring a lot of dimension to the face without being over the top! So if you want to see how I did this look, just keep on reading!

Chambor Dazzle Transfer Proof Smooth Eye Pencil in Teal Review and EOTD

Hey Everyone!

Turquoise has been my favorite color since I don't know may be when I was in school. I remember there was a time when my entire wardrobe had only shades of blue and turquoise! Oh yeah I was so crazy about this color! The moment I'd see turquoise anywhere I just had to have it! I have earrings, bangles, anklets, rings, handbags, shoes, dresses, sarees etc etc all in the same color family blue/teals and turquoise!

So when i ventured into makeup my first choice for colored liners were blue! I think blue and purple both colors flatter brown eyes a lot and makes them just pop! So out of my vast collection of blue liners I am going to review one of my favorite shades which is Chambor Dazzle Eye Liner in Teal!

I was pretty late to jump on the band wagon of Chambor Dazzle liners! I got quite a few of these last year before leaving India , I think I have three of these Brown, Purple and Teal. I am sure they have some more shades like Gold and Black. Fortunately I got these on their original price 445 which they have now increased to 545!

The packaging is simple, these come in plastic box packaging which I unfortunately through away. The eye pencil comes in retractable form and colored pencil case which is same as the shade of the eye liner itself so its easier to sort through your makeup collection. The retractable packaging is worth ever! Once you slide the eye liner up it cannot be undone ie the eye liner does not go back in! Seriously who creates such a retractable liner which only works one way up! It completely negates the concept of retractable!

Sleek Face Contour Kit in Medium Review and FOTD

Hey Everyone!

Sleek Face Contour Kit Medium

So today I'll be reviewing Sleek's Face Contour Kit in the shade Medium.

Price:- 8.49$ for 14g

Availability:- Sleekmakeup.com

Sleek Contour Kit

Its no secret that Sleek is one of my favorite brand and their products have never disappointed me yet! The same goes for this Face Contour Kit as well! I have always been quite chubby since my childhood days, infact till this day my mom raves about how soft and cushy I was when born just like a cotton! Though I love being chubby but it does not look so flattering when you are in your late twenties! Not so cute!

Thank god for contouring techniques which help in giving me an illusion of well defined cheeks without having  them! I really admire Malaika Arora Khan's well contoured face with high cheekbones! Though I cannot get the same effect without under going plastic surgery but I can definitely get a more defined and structured look all thanks to my Sleek's Face Contour Kit!

Real Techniques Lash-Brows Groomer Brush Review

Hey Everyone!

Real Technique brushes have been on my wish list from quite long but their limited availability has always been problem. So when I found out about a website where these brushes were available and they did ship internationally without thinking twice I placed my order!

The website I am talking about is iherb.com and I have ordered twice from them and never had any issues. Infact I am super impressed with their delivery charges and I would highly recommend them! The shipping option I chose was with tracking even though this option is a bit expensive but I didnt want to take any risk. I got my brushes in flat 3 days! How awesome is that!

Also iherb provides discount of 10$ off on your first order if the total amount is above 40$ or else 5$ off, so shipping practically becomes nil! You can use the discount code QFR991 to get 10$ off on your first order! They also stock Physician's Formula and ELF products!

So back to today's review, along with my Real Technique brushes I also got their Lash-Brow Groomer brush. Lately I have been obsessed with my eyebrows and wanted a tool like this!

All Real Technique brushes come in nice and sturdy plastic box packaging with the details of the brush printed on the back of the box. If you are not aware Real Technique line is developed by Samantha Chapman of the ever so famous Pixiwoo sisters!

All real technique brushes are color coded differently for face, eyes and multi taskers. The lash-brow groomer brush comes in bright and attractive purple handle. The brush has two sides one having thick dense brush to groom your eyebrows and other side with a stainless steel comb which you can use to separate your eyelashes as well as comb through your brows! The best part about this brush is that the comb is not plastic but made of steel so it won't break and also comes with a cap!

All Real Technique brushes are synthetic and made from nylon bristles so they are cruelty free! This brush does an awesome job in grooming the brows and distributing the color evenly across brows if you use an eyeshadow to fill in your brows. This technique gives the most natural looking brows!

The price is insanely cheap! This brush costs 6$ only!! I highly recommend this brush if you are looking for a something to groom your brows and lashes together!

I hope the review was helpful, until next time take care and stay beautiful!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3in1 Foundation First Impressions, Demo and FOTD

Hey Everyone!!

So in my last haul I mentioned I got the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3in1 Foundation and I am here to share my first impression about the same.

Now please remember this is only first impression and not a full review! I have used this foundation 3 times this week and as of now I absolutely love it!

The foundation comes in 14 shades and I have the shade 857 Golden Tan which is bang on match for my NC40-42 skin tone! The texture of the foundation is thick but not like Revlon Colorstay. Its so much easy to blend and settles to powder finish so its perfect for oily skinned beauties. Not sure if it will suit dry skin well.

Price:- 8 to 10$ depending from where you buy

Quantity:- 30ml and comes with a locking pump!

Soft Pink and Purple Eye Makeup Tutorial - Step By Step

Hey Everyone!

Pink and Purple Eye Makeup

Before I start with the tutorial let me tell you how I got the idea of doing this pink and purple eye look. So today while I was making breakfast for my hubby (oh yeah I am a good wife!) one of my neighbors came out playing with her what I assume to be her grand daughter. The grand daughter was wearing this gorgeous pretty fluffy pink dress with a matching pink and purple hairband! She looked so adorable I could eat her up! Oh god No No I don't go around eating babies!!! Its just an expression! :P

So the little angel was my inspiration for doing this soft and pretty pink purple eye makeup look and to be honest I really liked it. What do you think? Its super easy to do and wearable especially during day time or you could jazz it up by adding a dash of black in the outer corners and you are ready for a night out with your girls!

Hey Everyone!

Have you watched the movie Tangled? If not I highly suggest you to watch it today itself! One of the main reason I watched the movie was because I love cartoons and I love long hair! Do you want Rapunzel like long hair?

Haifa Wehbe Inspired Eye Makeup Tutorial - Step By Step

Hey Everyone!

As promised today I'll be sharing with you all step by step tutorial for my look which I did inspired by Haifa Wehbe. If you don't know Haifa Wehbe she is a Lebanese singer and an actor. Her makeup looks have always been raved and this particular look has been re-created by a number of you tube gurus :)

Haife Wehbe Eye Makeup, Arabic Eye Makeup

So without wasting any time further, lets us begin! List of the products used will be mentioned at the end.

Step1:- Always start with a clean moisturized eye area, my skin around the eyes is very dry so an eye cream is a must for me

Step2:- Conceal/correct your dark circles, this is optional step do it only if you have horrible dark circles like I do

Step3:- Prime your eyelids with an eye primer or paintpot or you can even use a concealer just make sure to set it with a powder

Step4:- Apply a gold eyeshadow all over the lids heavily, take right into the inner corners as well

Step5:- Now apply taupe brown eyeshadow starting at the outer corners making a winged shape as shown in the pic

Step6:- Using a clean blending brush like MAC 217 blend out the harsh edges on the crease making sure the winged shape on the outer corner is maintained.

Step7:- Tightline your eyes using a kohl and apply the same kohl on waterline. Also using very thin small brush take a matte black eyeshadow and line the edges of the upper lashline. This gives impression of defined eyes without using an eyeliner and also makes lashes appear full

Step8:- Apply a shimmery teal eyeliner or eyeshadow whatever you have at hand on the lower lashline and blend it using a pencil brush like 219 from MAC

Step9:- Next apply a shimmery vibrant purple eyeliner or eyeshadow and blend again. Finally again apply the teal eyeliner but only closest to the lower lashline.

Step10:- Apply some mascara and false eyelashes. Do touch ups wherever needed like re-apply the golden eyeshadow in the inner corners of the eyes to make it more vibrant and dont forget to fill in your brows and apply a brow bone highlight

Arabic Eye Makeup Look, Arabic Eye Makeup Tutorial

Step11:- Your look is complete :)
