Shea Terra Organics Authentic African Black Soap Review & Why You Need It In Your Life!

Hey Everyone!

I have been obsessed with Shea Terra Organics products for a while now especially the Moroccan Rose Water which is favorite rose water toner ever! But today I'll be talking about the best all natural organic cleanser Authentic African Black Soap Powder Cleanser. I first came across this line from Shea Terra on Skin & Tonics blog and was really fascinated by the description of the product. If you don't know Shea Terra Organics I'd highly recommend you to visit the site and see for yourself. The owner Tammie Umbel procures all the ingredients herself directly from the local African market therefore helping the local natives in preserving their wildlife habitats by sharing their indigenous healing ingredients with the world! All of her products are 99.9% natural with high quality ingredients! Check out more about Shea Terra Organics here.

Shea Terra Organics have three types of African Black Soap available in their store, one if pure raw black soap powder which I will be reviewing today, apart from that they have the black soap bar and the famous Rose Hips Black Soap Deep Pore Facial Wash which contains black soap plus the goodness of Rose Hips oil! The reason why I chose to go with the raw black soap powder was that the liquid version has a PH level of 10 or 11 which is quite high and can disrupt the moisture barrier of the skin and I have been making an effort to use cleansers which have a lower PH. But I know that a lot of people use the liquid version of it and have had fantastic results which can be viewed in their testimonies on their website!

Description: 100% Natural. Yes, real African Black Soap is really black. It is not brown (or purplish)- it is truly black in its 100% raw form. Some soaps have been dyed black to imitate this truly natural wonder, but there is no mistaken that this ashy soap is the 100% pure thing. "Activated charcoal" soaps were created to imitate our popular African Black Soap, but nothing works better to cleanse, refine, firm, get rid of acne and wrinkles like 100% pure, authentic African Black Soap

Ingredients: Contains only: cocoa pod ash, plantain peel ash, locally produced palm kernel oil, camwood bark.

How To Use: Add a little water to a spoonful of African Black Soap. Form soap into a paste. Apply to skin. Rinse off. African Black Soap can be made into a liquid by adding more water. Use on face and body. When diluted, may be used to shampoo hair.

My Experience:
I started using Shea Terra Organics African Black Soap Powder last year in September and I loved it so much that its the only cleanser I have used in over 5 months! The black soap powder comes in a dark glass bottle and contains 8 oz of product which is huge as compared to how little you need to wash your face. The powder is dark black in color as you can see in the picture below and resembles dry scrub. I take a tiny little of the powder about a couple of pea sizes and add few drops of water and create a paste out it and gently apply it on my face. I let it sit for around 5 mins and then wash it off with luke warm water by gently massaging my face in circular motions. The consistency of the black soap powder is very similar to a pie crust dough which is very crumbly but not scrubby if that makes sense.

After washing it off my face feels extremely clean and bright. Not that sulphate cleanser type clean but healthy clean! I can honestly say it works on acne as since I started using it I have seen a reduction in my hormonal acne and skin feels plump and healthy! I don't have any wrinkles so I can't really say if it has any positive impacts on them. The best part about this soap is that it actually feels moisturizing on face, not once it has dried my skin or made it feel tight and uncomfortable. With continuous usage my dry skin patches have reduced which is a huge plus in my books as most of the cleansers have some sought of drying effect on the skin especially the foaming cleansers. Also surprisingly even though its totally natural cleanser it does foam up a little bit nothing like the harmful SLS stuff but effective enough to clean your face and its all natural! No cleansing/foaming ingredients are added in the powder which is amazing! With continuous usage my pores look more smaller, tighter and refined if that makes sense!

Apart from using it as a face wash you can also use it as a scrub and/or face mask! Its truly an amazing product and I highly recommend it! My skin has become quite dry and dehydrated this winter and this cleanser works perfectly for me so I believe it will suit all skin types especially if you have acne or congested skin definitely give it a try! It can also be used as a shampoo if diluted properly.

All in all Shea Terra Organics African Black Soap Powder is an amazing cleanser and has gained HG status in my books! This along with my trusted Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Foam is all I need for life! You can buy Shea Terra Organics products directly from her website or other retailers like Amazon
